![]() I hope this helps, and gives you the confidence to try it out. I get the impression there was a bug in a previous version (possibly 21.5), but the current version is 21.8 and it's working perfectly with Thunderbird 52.2.1. There were a few reviews in Cardbooks addons page that were quite critical, claiming it doesn't work. Cardbook is a way better addressbook system, way better than the limited 90's style addressbooks Thunderbird has now.Ĭalendars are still just fine, syncing via Lightning. Actually, I think the Thunderbird devs should incorporate Cardbook by default (like they do with Lightning). It synchronised way quicker than Sogo Connector ever did, and better yet, it sync'd all the email addresses for a contact, not just the first two! You also have extra options about sorting and displaying contacts that you don't have via Sogo sync'd addressbooks. I created a new Cardbook remote addressbook using the link provided under "ShowURL" in Contacts in Next/ownCloud. Hostname: This is the FQDN of the LDAP server. LdapAddressBook is a separate application which can be used with Thunderbird to provide full read/write access to an LDAP directory. For this example, I'll use foo.com directory. Unfortunately Thunderbird currently doesn't support editing entries on the LDAP server (this is bug 86405) so its most useful in an environment where an admin maintains a corporate address book. Click Add and fill in the following information: Name: Whatever you'd like to call this address book. Go to Tools Composition check 'Directory Server' and click Edit Directories. I even deleted my existing (Sogo sync'd) addressbooks to ensure I was only using whatever Cardbook provided. Open up the address book inside Thunderbird. I did this, but later deleted them from Cardbook (they're static, not synchronised). It will be in this location: The backup may have a different profile name folder using different letters and numbers, but all should be the same on both bvackup and new computer. Since Thunderbird version 87.0 the Outlook support is working well in Thunderbird, so its time to enable it. Base DN: Base dn of your domain in LDAP directory. ![]() ![]() Hostname: IP address or hostname of your iRedMail server. ![]() In tab General: Name: use whatever name you like. In Address Book window, click menu File -> New -> LDAP Directory. The first run wants to import your contacts from your existing Thunderbird addressbooks. Steps: Click Address Book in main Thunderbird window. I'm connected to Nextcloud rather than ownCloud, but it should work just fine for you, too. Hey I've disabled Sogo Connector and set up Cardbook, and Cardbook is working perfectly ![]()
